Metamorphose's Grapy Sweetie Fox Cub
Who but Meta would think to combine grapes and foxes. Seems so random right? Pick an animal and a fruit that aren't very common in Lolita prints, and combine them. How can it go wrong?
After doing a bit of research, I realized that this print may be based on an Aesop fable. The story goes; a fox sees some delicious grapes in a tree and tries very hard to get them. After repeated failed attempts, the fox gives up and looks at the grapes in disgust. He says, "What a fool I am. Here I am wearing myself out to get a bunch of sour grapes that are not worth gaping for." |

The OP has a standard nice design, puffy sleeves and corset style lacing in the front and back plus a detachable collar and bows. However the JSK has a very unusual under bust line. It sort of goes up and makes the top part of the piece look more like a casual tank top. Not a bad thing necessarily, just something to note as I can't think of another dress with that type of seam line. It has a detachable bow in the front as well, allowing you to really see how the front of the dress is constructed.

Colorways and Accessories
The green grapes and orange foxes seem to be a natural color combo, though a bit uncommon. However, I can't quite get past the crayon colored blue! I don't mind the white version, but I feel like the blue is really sticking out in a bad way :( If you look at a color wheel, orange green and blue are technically split complimentary colors...but that shade just isn't working for me. What do you think?

Overall Rating: ♥♥
I'd wait until the dress goes on sale or is getting sold second hand somewhere. I would only consider the white version for more casual wear, as it's easier to match accessories with it. I wouldn't buy the tights or any accessories that are supposed to match it, but instead pair my own. It's not my favorite print(no matter how cute those littlr foxes are) but I appreciate the attempt at something a little different.
